National Theatre at Home presents...
One Man, Two Guvnors

< Back to Whats On

Please note: This event is in the past and is available as a reference only.

The National Theatre and the National Theatre Live will be continuing to bring outstanding theatre direct to you, through their YouTube channel, every Thursday evening.

Popular past productions will be available each week, for 7 days, so you can continue to enjoy the experience and magic of live theatre, whilst staying safe and isolated.

This Thursday 2nd April is One Man, Two Guvnors by Richard Bean.

Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from host of the The Late Late Show, James Corden, this hilarious West End and Broadway hit is based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, with songs by Grant Olding.

Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small

time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancees dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who has been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers.

Holed up at The Cricketers Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel.

To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart.  Simple.
