Blog: Almost a Panto! - Closed / January Update
Categories: Hot Stuff, Shows, Productions and Events
Following our update on Tuesday, announcing our early closure of our highly rated pantomime Almost a Panto! and the further update from the Government yesterday announcing West Sussex will join other areas in Tier 4 from Boxing Day; Today we announce that Chequer Mead will no longer open on January 2nd, instead we will close indefinitely until further notice when we can be assured our customer and staff's safety is restored.
We are absolutely devastated to have to cut short spreading the pantomime magic this Christmas, but thank all our customers for their amazing reviews and support of the theatre and company, we have been truly overwhelmed.
If you missed your chance to see the show, we will be working on the possibility of a live broadcast and recording shortly after Christmas, safety permitting. We hope to have news on this shortly, and this will be available to ticket holders and additionally for non-ticket holders who would like to make a donation.
All ticket holders for Almost a Panto! will have received an email by the end of today giving options on how to proceed. This includes a full refund, moving your tickets to our eagerly awaited 2021 pantomime of Jack and the Beanstalk as well as donation options, too. We must thank those who have opted for the latter options already and shown their loyalty and support for Chequer Mead and the arts this Christmas.
Our phone lines will close today at 3pm and re-open at 10am on Tuesday 29th December, whilst our staff take an unusual Christmas break.
Thank you once again for your support. We can't wait to open our doors to you all again in a safer, brighter and bigger 2021.
Merry Christmas.
Will Perkins,
General Manager.
