The Box Office is open from 9:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday and from 9:30am – 4:30pm on Saturdays. On show days the Box Office is also open one hour before a performance and closes at the end of the interval. Quite often the Box Office will be open later than advertised. Tickets can be booked in person or by telephone by calling 01342 302000.
Please check on any concession prices, with the Box Office at the time of the booking, as discounts cannot be applied retrospectively. Concessions depending on the production.
Refunds & Exchanges
Please make sure you check your tickets. Once purchased, regrettably, tickets cannot be exchanged nor can money be refunded in any circumstances other than the event being cancelled. In event of a sell out we will attempt to resell your tickets, but we cannot guarantee a resale. Tickets can only be exchanged for the same show or film at a different time or day.
Tickets may be reserved for up to 7 days for any event that is more than 7 days in the future by calling or visiting the Box Office. Tickets cannot be reserved online and are automatically released if not paid for after 7 days.
Mobile Phones & Cameras
All mobile phones must be turned off prior to entering the auditorium.
There is strictly no photography or filming allowed inside the auditorium unless prior consent is given by the production company or artiste.
Chequer Mead reserves the right to remove anyone who doesn’t comply with this policy.
We hope that everyone can enjoy the experience of live theatre and therefore take the issues of accessibility very seriously.
There is a level access to the front and throughout the building and full disabled facilities including allocated parking. Regretfully there is no access to the first floors seats in the circle.
Chequer Mead operates a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan Procedure (PEEP) for its disabled patrons – please speak to a member of staff for more information.
An infrared induction loop system is installed within the auditorium to aid customers who are hard of hearing. A limited number of headsets are available at the Box Office free of charge.
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome throughout the venue.
We have specific areas for optimum wheelchair access in the auditorium and so we ask that wheelchair patrons book in advance so that we can allocate you these seats as well as help you during your visit. Please discuss you needs with Box Office staff when making your booking, especially if you are using a large wheelchair.
We are pleased to offer concessionary priced tickets to wheelchairs users where available and complimentary tickets to carers whose presence is essential to comply with the centre’s fire regulations.
At the discretion of the duty manager, patrons arriving late may be held back, or seated in the most easily accessible seat if appropriate, until a suitable break in the performance.
Whilst we attempt at all times to safeguard customers’ interests, Chequer Mead can accept no responsibility for content and pricing of events. Chequer Mead will give guidance where possible on extreme content.
