A Night for Zac - 12th February

Wednesday 21st January 2015 @ 9:21pm by Alex
Categories: Hot Stuff, Shows, Productions and Events

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES FISHER STEVENS HAS HAD TO WITH DRAW FROM THIS EVENT.  HE SENDS HIS APOLOGIES & WE SEND OUR BEST WISHES TO FISHER
JOHNNY LEE MEMPHIS HAS KINDLY STEPPED IN.

Three of the best tribute acts on the circuit have kindly agreed to contribute to an evening of top entertainment to help raise money and awareness of young Zac Worby.

Zac is less than a year old and he has already spent over 8 months of his life in hospital with RIRCD (reversible infantile respiratory chain deficiency) mitochondria myopathy. A very rare genetic disease with only 6 recorded cases in the world. It is a metabolic disease causing the battery cells (mitochondria) not to work properly. It causes a severe muscle weakness and this has triggered significant problems to feeding, swallowing and essentially his breathing muscles. Zac is now a long term tracheostomy vented baby requiring life support and intensive care.

The uniqueness of his condition is if he can be kept well and supported this should reverse in 3-5 years, the danger is he could lose his fight due to infection before this.

Zacs family are hugely supportive and yet have their own personal uphill struggles of their own, with one daughter with Cerebral Palsy and Autism, and another with Dravet Syndrome, a life limiting epilepsy disorder.

Being a local family living in Forest Row, Chequer Mead are hoping to raise as much money as we can to help Zac for his future.

This night would not be possible without the talents of:

Johnny Lee Memphis –  2008 best Vegas Elvis, 2010 World Champion and 2014 European Champion , Johnny is coming all the way from Edinburgh to delight us with his amazing rendition of The King

Never 42 – they will be bringing us the hits of Level 42, such as Lessons In Love, Something About You, and The Sun Goes Down, Never 42 recreate the sound of the 80’s stalwarts with great accuracy.

And U2baby - covering the music of U2 from the 80’s to the present day. Frontman Richard Peace is uncanny as Bono, and their portrayal of the Irish rockers is faultless.

Join us on Thursday 12th February at 7:30pm for a fantastic evening of entertainment, whilst also helping a child in need.
